    Health Insurance for Drug Rehab

Fairwinds Addictions, Alcoholism, Drug Addiction alcohol addiction, drug addiction, insurance

Addiction comes at us from many angles. If you are reading this, chances are you or someone you know has a substance abuse problem. Approximately 20 million people suffer from addiction in this country, and only 4 million seek help through treatment programs. It is, unfortunately, a fact of life. There are no social or economic factors that predetermine dependency problems. Being addicted does not make you or your loved one a bad person. However, the addiction came about, and realizing there is a problem, then being willing to seek help is the key. Treatment can be expensive, but the good news is that your health insurance can cover a substantial portion of the necessary costs for drug and alcohol treatment.

Regardless of what lead to the addiction, with help and determination, recovery is possible. You or your loved one are finally ready to do something to beat the addiction. Addiction to drugs and alcohol is recoverable, but it is a process and will not happen overnight. Paying for the program can be an obstacle.

    Health Insurance for Drug Rehab

Prior to 2010, addiction recovery coverage was considered a luxury. The good news is, due to changes in healthcare law, the health insurance you currently have will more than likely cover Substance Abuse Treatment. We work daily with insurance carriers and managed care companies to verify coverage to get people started on the path to recovery.

Your insurer determines what the percentage of the total coverage they will pay. If you have a basic plan, it might be 30% of your rehab total. A premium plan may pay up to 90% of the total expense of the treatment. At minimum, you will probably still have to pay co-pays and deductibles. To find out how much your insurance will pay for substance abuse treatment. Contact Fairwinds Treatment Center and will verify benefits with your insurance provider to determine your out-of-pocket costs.

The steps and levels of care needed to recover from substance abuse:

    • Detoxification – almost every person with an addiction has to have some type of assistance and treatment to clear the body from the drugs and alcohol. This can be inpatient or outpatient, it depends on the type of detox needed, and is up to your medical professional.
    • Inpatient rehab begins with medical detox for those who will have withdrawal symptoms. Patients will live at the facility for a time.
    • Outpatient rehabilitation is for those folks with a stable home life and are well enough to go to work every day.
    • Therapy is required for all patients. It is necessary, and used to create changes in behaviors. It is easy to relapse back into the addiction. Helping a person realize how they became addicted is imperative. Patients also learn coping tools and defense mechanisms that will help them stay clean and sober.

Health insurance for drug rehab does exist and is probably covered by your policy. It is imperative that treatment is sought once the need for help has been admitted. Each person became addicted differently. At Fairwinds Treatment Center every patient has their own individualized recovery program. Recovery is not easy, but no one can truly have a happy, fulfilled life without it.

If you or a loved one are seeking a treatment facility for drug and/or alcohol addiction, Fairwinds Treatment Center has been helping families for over 30 years and we are in network with most insurance providers. Contact our admissions department for benefits verification to get started.
