    Amy Helland, BSN, RN-BC

    Amy is the Director of Nursing at Fairwinds Treatment Center.  She has been with us since 2005, and prior to her current position, served in the roles of charge nurse and Quality Management Coordinator.  Amy has previous experience as a charge nurse in the community mental health setting, supervising various adult crisis and long-term residential and children’s crisis, residential, and intensive-residential units; a children’s group home, children’s mental health shelter, juvenile addiction receiving facility, and mental health juvenile justice units.  She has also worked on memory care/dementia units in the private health sector.  Amy obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from St. Petersburg Junior College, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of South Florida.  She has been Board Certified in psychiatric/mental health nursing since 2006.

    Amy is charged with the supervision of the mental health technicians and the licensed practical and registered nurses who provide around-the-clock compassionate care to our patients.  Amy ensures a primary focus on the safety of those we serve, as well as the superb quality of care that we deliver.
