Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Patients in the Palm Harbor, FL, Area

You can overcome your eating disorder, but you must be willing to take the first step. Fairwinds Treatment Center offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for eating disorders. This program offers a higher level of care than standard outpatient programs in which patients visit our recovery center near Palm Harbor, Florida, three days per week for three to five hours at a time. Unlike patients participating in our inpatient and day/night recovery programs, our IOP patients are those who have returned to work or school or are transitioning out of residential care or partial hospitalization.

Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program

Fairwinds Treatment Center has spent over 30 years helping patients who suffer from eating disorders such as bulimia, anorexia, and compulsive overeating disorder. We offer the following treatment services depending on your individual needs and goals:

  • Nutrition counseling – We’ll help you develop a meal plan that will promote weight loss, weight restoration, or weight maintenance.
  • Individual psychotherapy – Our counselors will help you with other parts of your life outside of your eating disorder, such as communication and various types of relationships.
  • Family therapy – We will work with you and your family to uncover how your eating disorder impacts those around you and understand how your family can support you throughout your recovery.
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) – Our counselors can help you overcome your negative thoughts surrounding eating, food, and body image.
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy – We can help you learn how to regulate your emotions, along with developing mindfulness, distress intolerance, and interpersonal skills.
  • Radically open dialectical therapy – This form of therapy is designed to help you manage any difficult emotions while also decreasing any harmful behaviors you are experiencing.
  • Fitness and wellness groups – Our groups can help you learn to enjoy healthy exercise while avoiding the negative impacts of improper exercise.
  • Art therapy – We offer art therapy as a way of promoting self-expression and self-understanding. Art can be a healthy avenue to express difficult-to-verbalize feelings.
