Fairwinds Treatment Center has specialized in treating anorexia in both adolescent and adult females and males for over 15 years. Our specialized treatment plans focus on the patient and family, and offer individualized treatment in a safe, home-like atmosphere.
Our Mission on treating bulimia is to assist clients in finding "A Life in Living without an Eating Disorder."
Our Vision on treating bulimia- We will strive to facilitate clients in doing the following:
Accepting the body the way it is regardless of shape or size. Living in the moment without being a constant judge of food, eating, and weight. Integrating therapeutic, experiential, nutritional, and mindful experiences to improve quality of life. Living without comparison to others, and engaging families to support loved ones in their quest to live life without disordered eating.
Individuals struggling with bulimia nervosa engage in destructive and secretive cycles of binge eating (the consumption of excessive amounts of food in a short period of time), followed by purging (vomiting, using laxatives or exercising excessively) or other dangerous behaviors to prevent weight gain.
Our clinical staff and team is highly experienced in dealing with bulimia. Our eating disorders treatment team provides highly effective treatment designed to heal the physical and emotional injuries of this dangerous eating disorder, which includes an individualized treatment plan for each patient. Fairwinds Treatment Center treats both adolescent and adult females and males struggling with bulimia.
Co-Occurring Disorders
We rarely treat an individual who is only suffering from bulimia, there is usually another problem such as substance abuse or dealing with a mental health issue that needs to be addressed. Since bulimia often occurs together with a chemical dependency and/or psychiatric disorder, Fairwinds Treatment Center is one of only a few dually-licensed psychiatric and substance abuse treatment facilities in the nation to earn accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Fairwinds Treatment Center offers treatment for bulimia for both female and male clients.
Build a lasting recovery.
