The new face of heroin addiction [VIDEO]

Who do you see when you imagine a heroin addict? Many Americans still picture a homeless person sitting on the street with a needle in his arm, but that’s no longer the reality of the situation.

The Economist recently reported that today, over half of all heroin users are women, 90 percent are white, and a majority of first-time users are well past their teen years.

There is no one face of drug addiction, and it’s important to remember that anyone can be affected by the terrible consequences of this disease.
