What is the dual diagnosis method of treatment? [Video]

    admin Dual Diagnosis, Videos

If you believe a family member or loved one is suffering from substance abuse or an eating disorder, it’s important to act immediately. However, it’s just as imperative that you do so in the right way.

Treating substance abuse is a complex process that involves much more than addressing symptoms. The underlying cause of the disease must also be tackled. Together these concepts form the foundation of what is known as the dual diagnosis approach.

The approach calls for the patient’s care to address all issues from the start of the program and ensure he or she leaves each session feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Fairwinds Treatment Center has specialized in this treatment method since it opened in 1989. The center’s team of full-time psychiatrists, nurses and licensed therapists look to heal someone from the inside out. Their goal is to not only treat symptoms but to investigate underlying causes and figure out ways prevent relapses.
